January Happenings...

The last month has been crazy busy and full of fun adventures and HUGE blessingsl During January I was officially offered a full time job which means...I accomplished my long term goals that I set when I graduated high school! I am working full time at a Developmental Disability Agency as a Clinical Supervisor and a Habilitative Intervention Therapist. I am also working as a music therapist for my own company!!! I love my jobs, my coworkers, and especially the kids with whom I work! I have definitely been incredibly blessed!

Last month Thomas and I went to my work party at Wahooz. We got some sweet prizes from our arcade winnings!

We went to a charity boxing match. I only went because Thomas wanted to go, but I really enjoyed it!

While enjoying some delicious Five Guys food we found this ridiculous box.

We went to a hockey game and found this...I successfully pulled out the butterfly without getting buzzed!

Office Quotes...

A small peak inside the world of a DDA office with people who like to have fun...

Lauren: I need a craft to make with the adults tomorrow.
Me: I'm on it!
Lauren: I don't want you to find it. I want to find it.
Later...
Me: I know how to make tissue paper trees.
Lauren: I don't want to make tissue paper trees. I want to make flowers.
Me: Well you shouldn't tell me when you need something because I'm like a man. I want to fix it.

Me to Lauren: Forever is a long time and I like change. I don't know if I can commit to that.

Boss to me: You should stay with people who save your life.

Boss: What have you improved on this quarter?
Me: I answer the phone now!

Boss: Congratulations. I think we need to work that differently.

Boss to Lauren: Come stand out here and look into your office. Imagine that you're just a person walking in here. What do you see?
Lauren: An office who people who know how to have a fun time.
Sara: No...you don't. It's a mess.

I'm pretty sure Lauren thinks this about me on a daily basis!

Not Pregnant...

I have recently developed a new hobby...knitting, crocheting, and weaving. My grandma is a master crocheter, so I asked for her help. This happened tonight...
Me: Grandma, can you help me make some baby booties?
Grandma (with a look of cautious happiness): Are you pregnant?!?
Me (feeling awful for getting her hopes up): No, I'm not. I'm sorry.
Grandma; Oh, I'm sorry. I just didn't know why else you would ask me how to make baby booties.

Sorry Grandma!

Christmas Quotes...

"You're breaking all the traditions we could have had!"
Said by Makayla after my mom told her that she couldn't open any presents on Christmas Eve.

Me to Savanna: "Do you want a slouchy hat?'
Savanna: "Sure."
Brenna: "It's because you're slouchy."

"This is what happens when you are an adult. You get excited about drying racks."
Said by me after Savanna made fun of me for getting excited about getting a dryer rack from Thomas.

Christmas...

Christmas was fantastic this year! It was a great first Christmas being married!
Exploding Snowman! We got my dad exploding targets!

The tree wouldn't stand up straight!

My mom was trying to help my dad get the tree up correctly.

Thomas got a pogo stick from my sisters and me!

Power Tools!!! Finally!

Thomas got me a drying rack!

Let the crafting continue! I've been crafting since November. Thomas got me a loom kit and my parents got me a sewing machine!!!

Big Al's...

Last week Thomas and I went to Big Al's to hang out with some friends and watch the Poinsettia Bowl (okay, only I was there to watch the Poinsettia Bowl which Utah State won!) While we were there we were finally reunited with Maddy!

After we had dinner we went to the arcade.
Adam won the Jackpot! 250 tickets!
This game let Thomas play without paying!
He definitely got his money's worth!

The day Thomas made a young girl cry...

Last week Thomas and I went to his work Christmas party. During the party they had a gift exchange where people could steal presents...you know...the one that everyone does at all parties. Before the gift exchange even started Thomas' co-worker said that she brought a lava lamp because everyone should have one when marijuana becomes legal. Thomas said that he was going to get it. I didn't know if he was joking or not, but I really hoped that he wasn't! I've wanted a lava lamp ever since the one I had died when I was a teenager! I was STOKED to get a lava lamp and didn't think that anyone would steal it from us.
Someone opened it and was very disappointed. She was super happy when Thomas stole it from her. Shortly after that another person opened a present and it was another lava lamp! The woman who opened it had a young daughter that didn't seem too interested in the lamp.
When there were only a few people left and I thought I was home free, SOMEONE STOLE THE LAMP FROM US! Rude! Thomas then went and stole the other lamp from the girl (who didn't look that interested in it). Apparently she liked it WAY more than she showed because she started crying. It was so sad! A woman came up to Thomas and shook her finger in his face and said, "Shame, Shame, Shame. Shame on you. Shame, shame, shame!"
The little girl opened another present but she was still crying, so Thomas gave her back the lamp, which led to the guy giving us back our lamp. The little girl gave Thomas a huge hug and said, "Thanks. Thanks for giving me back the avalanche."
I feel slightly guilty, but not guilty enough to not LOVE having it!
