The day Thomas made a young girl cry...

Last week Thomas and I went to his work Christmas party. During the party they had a gift exchange where people could steal presents...you know...the one that everyone does at all parties. Before the gift exchange even started Thomas' co-worker said that she brought a lava lamp because everyone should have one when marijuana becomes legal. Thomas said that he was going to get it. I didn't know if he was joking or not, but I really hoped that he wasn't! I've wanted a lava lamp ever since the one I had died when I was a teenager! I was STOKED to get a lava lamp and didn't think that anyone would steal it from us.
Someone opened it and was very disappointed. She was super happy when Thomas stole it from her. Shortly after that another person opened a present and it was another lava lamp! The woman who opened it had a young daughter that didn't seem too interested in the lamp.
When there were only a few people left and I thought I was home free, SOMEONE STOLE THE LAMP FROM US! Rude! Thomas then went and stole the other lamp from the girl (who didn't look that interested in it). Apparently she liked it WAY more than she showed because she started crying. It was so sad! A woman came up to Thomas and shook her finger in his face and said, "Shame, Shame, Shame. Shame on you. Shame, shame, shame!"
The little girl opened another present but she was still crying, so Thomas gave her back the lamp, which led to the guy giving us back our lamp. The little girl gave Thomas a huge hug and said, "Thanks. Thanks for giving me back the avalanche."
I feel slightly guilty, but not guilty enough to not LOVE having it!

Wife...

My sister LOVES to pretend to be animals. She is constantly acting like some animal. She even has a jump rope that she uses as a monkey tail. One day she was playing with her friend and he wanted to play house but she wanted to play dogs. My mom said that he could play house and have a pet dog. Then he said, "I DON'T WANT A DOG! I WANT A WIFE!" Hopefully she will want to be a wife more than an animal some day!

Quotes...

Enjoy the following quotes brought to you by my family and friends!

While listening to a song from the 70's...

"We listened to this song and danced when you were high."
"You were high?"

"I pretended to be..."

After watching a VHS movie and seeing the static at the end...
Makayla: "What's it going to do now?"
Brenna: "I don't know. It's just black and white dots."

"Hollister is a sex shop and you shouldn't go there."

When Brenna found out that I was moving but it wasn't to Nyssa.
Brenna: "She's moving already?"
Mom: "Yeah, just to another apartment in Boise."
Brenna: "Oh...they should move over here already."

After my cousin (who was in bed) heard my dad eating cereal at night...
"I heard you eating that bowl of cereal and I needed one so bad. That milk and crunch. Mmmm."

"Can you give me a wep wipe?" Yes...wep wipe not wet wipe.

Said during a prayer in primary...
"Please help us pass out the doormats."

"Honesty is like being pregnant. You are or you aren't."

And a couple from a TV show because they are fantastic:

"That is just too many words in a row. We need to take a break."

"Sometimes shenanigans is another word for doing what's necessary."

27 years old...

My birthday started off with Thomas surprising me at work with beautiful flowers and chocolate roasted almonds! My coworker came in and said, "A guy named Thomas is here for you." I said, "Why is my husband here?!" I was super excited! She said, "He never told me that he was your husband. He's in trouble!" After I went out to see him she walked by and said, "Don't kiss him until I get by. That's gross!" Haha!
My coworkers took me out to lunch! They are awesome! We went to Olive Garden! After lunch I worked with one of my favorite kids. He makes me super happy! The highlight of my hour and a half with him was when I opened my water bottle and it made a popping sound. He started laughing and asked to do it again. Love it!
I worked with my music therapy clients that afternoon and it was amazing! They make me happy!
When I got home Thomas greeted me at the door with a kiss! Then he told me that my cake was in the kitchen but he didn't know how to make frosting. He said that he tried but he didn't know what went wrong. I saw the frosting...he just forgot to put milk in it! He started to put the frosting on the cake, but he looked distressed, so I offered to help him.
When we were done we went to my friend's house. My friend's decorated the house and made me lasagna! They didn't have candles so they put a sparkler in the cake. Good times! We also had a mini photo shoot :) Thomas passed out on the couch soon after the cake. Night shifts are getting to him...

Salsa, Onion Harvest, and Denver the Last Dinosaur...

Today Thomas and I went to my parents' house today and made more salsa!!!!!!!!!! We also went on an onion harvest adventure while the salsa was cooking.
My sister, her friend, Thomas, and I rode in the semi with my dad. It had a bunk bed!
I was super impressed with my dad's driving skills when he drove between these things.
The onion shed.

They loved the tiny window at the top of the truck.

My dad!

We took pictures to pass the time while waiting to unload!

My dad backed the trailer into the shed using the flashlights that the guys inside had to guide him.
I've never seen so many onions in one place!

It was fun seeing everything and hanging out with my dad! I haven't seen him much since harvest started. It will be done on Monday though!

Tonight I watched Denver the Last Dinosaur with my sisters.
I LOVED THIS MOVIE as a kid. I even had a shirt that my mom eventually threw away (while I cried) because there was barely anything left of it. It's super exciting that my sisters love it too!

Salsa...

Last Saturday Thomas and I went to my parents' house to make salsa! Before I got married my mom always let me have salsa. Now she expects me to help her make it...what?!? I'm addicted to my mom's salsa though, so there wasn't a choice. One time I ate half a jar in one sitting and then decided that maybe I should let Thomas have some. It sat in the fridge for 3 days and he didn't even touch it. Of course I ate it after 3 days. He came home and said, "Why did you eat all the salsa? I wanted some." Seriously?!? You can't leave salsa in the fridge for 3 days and expect me not to eat it.
We started the day out right with donuts from M&W. It must have been donut day or something because we stood in line with three people ahead of us and there were three people behind us. They even ran out of plain donuts!

I forgot to take a picture of the finished project because it got done so late! I forgot that salsa took so long to cook. I'm excited to finally have some again!

Wedding Weekend...

We went to Salt Lake for Lacie's wedding. We got done there on Thursday night and went to the temple! I've never been inside the Salt Lake Temple...it was great! After the temple we went to Wendy's to see Lacie!!!!!!! Before she got there we got some food. We tried eating super healthy all day and we were STARVING, so we got a pretzel bun cheeseburger and chicken sandwich! Delicious!
Thomas liked the fries!
We got to the temple bright and early! We took a few pictures in front of the doors while we waited for Lacie and Mike to come out after the ceremony.

We went to an organ recital while we were waiting for the luncheon to start!

The reception was great, except that Thomas got a bloody nose! We took a picture with my favorite fellow bridesmaid, Kodie! Lacie and her met on their mission and I was super jealous of her because I thought she was taking my place in Lacie's life! She's fantastic!
On Saturday we hung out with my cousins and aunt and uncle. We went to my cousin's son's soccer game, his sister liked kicking the ball more than he did!

Today we went to Music and the Spoken word in the tabernacle. The choir and orchestra were amazing! Definitely worth waking up early!

We also took a tour of the Conference Center. An 80-year-old man was our tour guide! He was great!

Moving Day...

Thomas and I finally moved!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our new apartment is bigger and cheaper! We have accumulated way too much stuff in our short marriage!

While we were waiting for people to come and help us we changed my license plates...very sad day!

Now we need to find the motivation to unpack all of our boxes!

Leslie Gulch...

Last weekend my family, Thomas, and I finally went to Leslie Gulch! It is one of my favorite places to go! I have wanted to take Thomas there since we started dating. Sometimes the road was sketchy to drive because of all the storms lately. That's never stopped my dad before though! When we got to the reservoir it looked like this...

I think my dad forgot we were taking a picture.

The boat ramp.

Mountain Goats! We also saw wild horses.

Baptism...

My youngest sister was baptized last weekend! I was so happy you would think that she was my own kid. Before the baptism we took a family picture. We finally got a good one on the third try!

Some of my family came up from Southern Utah to attend the baptism! It was a fantastic weekend visiting them. My grandpa stayed for more than a day! He usually only stays for a day when he comes up here. The last night my cousin (who would come and visit me every summer! We had great times!) and I were going to sleep on the couches with no one else in the room and we started talking about what temperature we keep our houses. We talked about it for longer than we should have I think. In the middle of talking about it she stopped and said, "Did you ever think that we would be talking temperatures in our houses?" I said, "Ugh...we are old and lame!" That may not be true but we have definitely grown up!

The Cabin and the 100th post...

This weekend Thomas and I went to the cabin with my cousin and his wife. We got up there a few hours before they did and explored a little bit before making dinner. While we were exploring I had a few "blonde" moments.
Sam: Remember that boring thing we watched. It was really interesting.
Thomas: That's the most blonde thing I've ever heard you say.
*It was a youtube video about why it's good for people to be bored*
Sam: I have 2 friends, more like acquaintances. Anyway...they are 9 months apart.
Thomas: I feel like you left a crucial part out of that story.
Sam: They are 9 months apart! 9 months!
Thomas: So?
Sam: Oh...I forgot to tell you that they are siblings.

Thomas was super excited when we found this ridiculously long piece of jerky in the store!

We saw South Pacific at Starlight Mountain Theater. During intermission the cast sold licorice ropes and gave a kiss with the purchase. When intermission began a girl around 10 jumped up and said, "I'm going to go buy me a licorice rope! Mom...I'm going to go buy me a licorice rope!" She was much too excited!

The cabin was a blast as always. We all talked until 3:30 in the morning! I was shocked! The cabin seems to have that effect though. The next morning we got up and cooked an amazing breakfast and then talked some more. My cousin stopped and said, "Do you know how good it is just to sit here and be able to talk and not have to do anything? I don't have to go to work and it feels great!" I couldn't agree more! He went outside and then came back in and said, "It's just so quiet. There's no sound anywhere. How can it be so quiet?!"
It wasn't very quiet after he left. There were helicopters everywhere fighting a fire that wasn't too far away. The sky was filled with smoke.

The smoke was crazy!

It looked like the fire was just behind the mountains, so we left.
Last year around this time Thomas invited me to the cabin with a couple of other friends. He didn't tell me then but it was at that time that he started to love me. Love it! Why wouldn't he though. Who couldn't love this...

This was after our 4-wheeler ride last year. As you can tell, I was not in the lead.
When we got back from the cabin we went to a housewarming party and had these awesome pictures taken.
