Wedding Weekend...

We went to Salt Lake for Lacie's wedding. We got done there on Thursday night and went to the temple! I've never been inside the Salt Lake Temple...it was great! After the temple we went to Wendy's to see Lacie!!!!!!! Before she got there we got some food. We tried eating super healthy all day and we were STARVING, so we got a pretzel bun cheeseburger and chicken sandwich! Delicious!
Thomas liked the fries!
We got to the temple bright and early! We took a few pictures in front of the doors while we waited for Lacie and Mike to come out after the ceremony.

We went to an organ recital while we were waiting for the luncheon to start!

The reception was great, except that Thomas got a bloody nose! We took a picture with my favorite fellow bridesmaid, Kodie! Lacie and her met on their mission and I was super jealous of her because I thought she was taking my place in Lacie's life! She's fantastic!
On Saturday we hung out with my cousins and aunt and uncle. We went to my cousin's son's soccer game, his sister liked kicking the ball more than he did!

Today we went to Music and the Spoken word in the tabernacle. The choir and orchestra were amazing! Definitely worth waking up early!

We also took a tour of the Conference Center. An 80-year-old man was our tour guide! He was great!

Moving Day...

Thomas and I finally moved!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our new apartment is bigger and cheaper! We have accumulated way too much stuff in our short marriage!

While we were waiting for people to come and help us we changed my license plates...very sad day!

Now we need to find the motivation to unpack all of our boxes!

Leslie Gulch...

Last weekend my family, Thomas, and I finally went to Leslie Gulch! It is one of my favorite places to go! I have wanted to take Thomas there since we started dating. Sometimes the road was sketchy to drive because of all the storms lately. That's never stopped my dad before though! When we got to the reservoir it looked like this...

I think my dad forgot we were taking a picture.

The boat ramp.

Mountain Goats! We also saw wild horses.

Baptism...

My youngest sister was baptized last weekend! I was so happy you would think that she was my own kid. Before the baptism we took a family picture. We finally got a good one on the third try!

Some of my family came up from Southern Utah to attend the baptism! It was a fantastic weekend visiting them. My grandpa stayed for more than a day! He usually only stays for a day when he comes up here. The last night my cousin (who would come and visit me every summer! We had great times!) and I were going to sleep on the couches with no one else in the room and we started talking about what temperature we keep our houses. We talked about it for longer than we should have I think. In the middle of talking about it she stopped and said, "Did you ever think that we would be talking temperatures in our houses?" I said, "Ugh...we are old and lame!" That may not be true but we have definitely grown up!

The Cabin and the 100th post...

This weekend Thomas and I went to the cabin with my cousin and his wife. We got up there a few hours before they did and explored a little bit before making dinner. While we were exploring I had a few "blonde" moments.
Sam: Remember that boring thing we watched. It was really interesting.
Thomas: That's the most blonde thing I've ever heard you say.
*It was a youtube video about why it's good for people to be bored*
Sam: I have 2 friends, more like acquaintances. Anyway...they are 9 months apart.
Thomas: I feel like you left a crucial part out of that story.
Sam: They are 9 months apart! 9 months!
Thomas: So?
Sam: Oh...I forgot to tell you that they are siblings.

Thomas was super excited when we found this ridiculously long piece of jerky in the store!

We saw South Pacific at Starlight Mountain Theater. During intermission the cast sold licorice ropes and gave a kiss with the purchase. When intermission began a girl around 10 jumped up and said, "I'm going to go buy me a licorice rope! Mom...I'm going to go buy me a licorice rope!" She was much too excited!

The cabin was a blast as always. We all talked until 3:30 in the morning! I was shocked! The cabin seems to have that effect though. The next morning we got up and cooked an amazing breakfast and then talked some more. My cousin stopped and said, "Do you know how good it is just to sit here and be able to talk and not have to do anything? I don't have to go to work and it feels great!" I couldn't agree more! He went outside and then came back in and said, "It's just so quiet. There's no sound anywhere. How can it be so quiet?!"
It wasn't very quiet after he left. There were helicopters everywhere fighting a fire that wasn't too far away. The sky was filled with smoke.

The smoke was crazy!

It looked like the fire was just behind the mountains, so we left.
Last year around this time Thomas invited me to the cabin with a couple of other friends. He didn't tell me then but it was at that time that he started to love me. Love it! Why wouldn't he though. Who couldn't love this...

This was after our 4-wheeler ride last year. As you can tell, I was not in the lead.
When we got back from the cabin we went to a housewarming party and had these awesome pictures taken.

Family Fun Time...

Last Wednesday Thomas and I went to the Caldwell Night Rodeo with my family. Great rodeo! The clown didn't show up until halfway through because he fell asleep before the show. He made up for it though!

On Thursday we went to Couer d'alene. We stopped at Subway for breakfast. While we were there Thomas asked the woman helping us to toast his sandwich. This was their interaction:
Subway: Our toaster is broken.
Thomas (very uncharacteristicly passionate): WHAT?!? That's why I got the sandwich.
Subway (as she pointed to a sign): There's a sign.
Thomas just looked like he had no idea what to do. I've never ever seen him react like that. Totally made my day!
I thought we were going to die before we got to our destination. We almost got in two accidents within an hour of each other. The first time the woman driving ahead of us thought it would be a great idea to drive on the opposite side of the road for awhile before she turned left. The only problem was that there were three cars coming toward her! Later someone tried to pass a car while we were driving toward them. Luckily we survived! During our drive we also noticed that there is a ridiculous amount of wheat growing in Northern Idaho. The fields looked endless!

When we got to Couer d'alene we went straight to Silverwood and met Thomas' family. It was a fun rest of the day except that the rollercoasters shook way too much!
These were some of the conversations during our two days at Silverwood.
Background: I LOVE chocolate ice cream and salsa...not together, but separately!
Thomas: I don't want chocolate ice cream. I want sherbert.
Sam: Me too!
Thomas: Where did Sam go? Where is my wife.

Later that night...
Sam: I just want chips, not salsa.
Thomas (again, very uncharacteristicly passionate): I don't even know who you are anymore. You don't want chocolate ice cream. You don't want salsa. Where is my wife?!?
The next day...
Sam: These pants are legit!
Nephew: What's little gyms?
Later...
Sam: I'm writing down funny quotes from this trip.
Thomas: Who are you texting?
Sam: I told you I'm writing down funny quotes.
Thomas: Oooooooooooooh. I didn't listen.
Our trip was not exactly the most relaxing for me. While Thomas and I were on the ferris wheel he started making fun of me because I was semi-freaking out.
Sam: Theme park, family vacation, first time with your family, and I'm sick? You're just asking for a meltdown!
He just laughed at me and gave me a hug and thanked me for coming. Ha!

On Saturday we explored Couer d'alene! The lake was beautiful! There were tons of awesome shops around town too!

We kept trying to get a good picture but it didn't work, so we gave up.

On Sunday we came home and Monday night we said goodbye to Thomas' sister and her family. They were here for the summer but had to go home eventually! We played a sweet awesome game with zing shots. I want to buy some! They are just sling shots but are designed very well!

On Tuesday night we went to the fair and saw Foreigner in concert! It was fantastic!

I want this belt, but it was too expensive!

So excited for Foreigner!

Nifty Adventures and No Accidents...

This week...

  • Thomas and I celebrated 5 months of wedded bliss. We have now been married longer than we were engaged!
  • I continued training for my new job as a clinical supervisor at a DDA company. It's only part time. They are letting me market music therapy services to their clients so hopefully that will take up the other part of my work week.
  • An assisted living facility said that I could do Music Together classes at their facility! Yay for old and young people making music together!
  • I made something from pinterest that looked worthy to put on pinterest, and it was delicious!
  • Thomas and I became addicted to the show "Eureka." At least I have, but I can't watch it unless he's with me which is a problem.
  • We went to the temple and met someone who was a mission president in my friend's mission and is the brother of Thomas' mission president. We also saw 9 other people that night that we knew. Random!
  • We watched some fantastic youtube videos. These are our favorites.

  • We woke up on Saturday with nothing exciting to do and we ended the day on a boat at the lake. I don't think people understand how much I LOVE boating. It's the happiest place in the world for me!
  • and because no blog post is complete without pictures, here are some picture's from my mom's birthday a couple of weeks ago...
